Review of American Hustle (2013) by Thomas A — 28 Dec 2014
A somewhat odd yet pleasantly funny con-man film reminiscent of "Catch Me If You Can". It has a glittering of such great casts as Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, and Jennifer Lawrence. Thus, the film does not disappoint.
It is great seeing Jennifer Lawrence playing in what is probably her first truly "adult" mother role (unlike in her previous roles in other films where she played newly-wed young mother). From the beginning of the film, it is hard to guess which way the story plot goes, as loyalty of the two protagonists changes sides quite often. This "loyalty" theme thus makes the bulk of the suspense of the story, culminating in an ending which comes with a twist.
