Review of American Honey (2016) by Mahmoud K — 17 Jan 2017

There are two good things about this film. The first is sasha Lane, the girl is really hot in her own way and fits the character perfectly. The other is Shia Labeouf's performance, he really really stepped up and gave sth totally different than he used to.

Here's my real problem with the film. Any editor could've easily taken 30 to 40 mins off this. seriously. and I'm not the guy to hate on long films at all, two of my top 10 films are godfather and inception.

But really this one is 2 hrs 43 mins and for the life of me I couldn't understand why some scenes stayed as long as they did. and I know a lot about films and editing and directing, so I'm not one of those guys who wouldn't understand the concept of telling a story through specific camera cuts and specific length.

I totally get it. Just this film didn't need this. At the end of the day, I loved watching this American honey on my screen.
