Review of American History X (1998) by Frank D — 23 Jul 2012
Really one of the most daring and tremendous films of the '90s. Very few actors would have taken the role Edward Norton did, but he performed it with perfect subtlety. This film is an unbiased and unabashed look at some deeply serious problems, but not for one moment does it condescend or preach.
The material covers all bases and takes one of the most realistic looks at life that I have ever seen on film. This is the kind of movie that needs to be required viewing for people of all ages and backgrounds.
