Review of American History X (1998) by Tony H — 08 Aug 2012
Through narrative, this movie shows just how banal and childish racism often is, which is both comforting and distrubing, depending on how one looks at it. The ending is a bit of a letdown, as one gets the impression that the writer needed to tie a neat bow at the end of this inherently ambiguous morality tale.
Manages to wrestle with racism and yet still be original.
