Review of American History X (1998) by Justin O — 30 Oct 2012
I felt sorry for Edward Norton when he wasn't considered as continuing his great role of Hulk. I even feel more sorry now that he doesn't star in any movie with an important role. I mean in "The Bourne Legacy" he basically had 10 lines in the whole movie.
However this isn't about him it's about American History X, a movie that revolutionizes the modern day racism in America. The images that I saw in this film will stay stuck in my head forever.
American History X is the only movie that properly explains Neo-Nazism and why it's members have bee manipulated by its ego. For they don't do it for superiority or for fame but they do it in fear that they will be considered less valuable in society, they are scared to do it.
For a film that is 14 years old it sure is something that could happen tomorrow if not already today. The character development is spectacular and plot is great, however while the ending isn't as good as it could've been I was sure glad with the overall film itself.
It's one of those films that will be marked down in history forever.
