Review of American History X (1998) by Timothy G — 12 Nov 2012
A thought-provoking, beautiful masterpiece! Edward Norton delivers a brilliant performance with the help of a young, but extremely talented, Edward Furlong. The film's premise is compelling and unshakeable, full of deep thought and provokative development.
Kaye's cinematography and direction are amazing. The writing and the dialogue are natural and convincing. The film has amazing metaphorical imagery with Norton's hair and the black and white/color photography.
It was extremely well constructed and executed even better. One of only a few films from the 90s that I can honestly call a masterpiece. One of the best films ever made!
