Review of American History X (1998) by Mark Anthony C — 31 Jan 2016
Indeed, one of the best. This is a story about racial hate, the typical white vs black scenario. The film entirely revolves around the story of the two brothers, encased in hate towards other race. The pace of the story doesn't feel rushed at all; you can follow through every line and understand it very easily.
As I say, it's a smooth sail from beginning to end. The acting was also great; you can see and feel their emotions at the same time, especially the two brothers. From the feeling of rage and confusion to the road of enlightenment, I can say it was perfect.
The black and white scene of the past on cinematography is also beautiful. For me, it's not just a black and white color theme of the past; it is a view of what they actually see, how dark it is. It's just like you see, my past is grim, it's not that colorful unlike others, but it continue to hunt me and live within me every day.
I can't throw it away easily and through time, it molded me. That's what I feel when watching it, the moment I feel myself to the characters, that's the moment I can say that this is an excellent movie.
I will not make this long, to sum it up, overall, this is a great movie and you should watch it. That's all, Badum Tss!
