Review of American History X (1998) by Nair H — 02 Dec 2014
I was in quite a vulnerable and puppy dog wounded mode when I finally opened up my eyes and sensitive soul to this unusually effective dramatic film starring the always amazing Edward Norton and Edward Furlong.
Being somewhat of a victim of schoolyard bullying and xenophobic racist attacks from all types of peers, Derek Vineyard (Edward Norton) stood with me from his beyond cruel actions towards an African American actor his heartbreaking experience while serving time.
His heart being in the right place, Derek goes out of harm's way and most of the film to help get his younger brother avoid the very dark and dangerous path he took for a very foolish opinion.
