Review of American Hardcore (2006) by Tim J — 05 Jun 2007
A beautifully done documentary about (most) the influencial bands that created what we know as Hardcore today.
Its loud, aggressive and kicks you in you teeth. Packed with lots of live footage and candid interviews with many of the Gods of hardcore in early 80's.
Footage of Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains and Vancouvers DOA make this a DVD a must for anyone who is just getting into hardcore and wants to really see what its about.
However, this DVD isn't perfect. The director likes to make you believe that all of a sudden hardcore just dies. Even though many pure, classic hardcore releases came out during the early 90's.
Also, Sony did a weak job with the packaging of this DVD.
