Review of American Hardcore (2006) by Bob M — 30 Aug 2007
American hardcore punk is a subject that should have had a major directorial spotlight decades ago. Youth have been fascinated by the chronology and in particular, the stories of local scenes since before the days of the Dead Kennedy's.
Too bad the DK's would not agree to be in this doc but be glad that Paul Rachman made it. As shoddy as some footage is, the local scenes approach is the way people recount hardcore and there are some great stories here.
There is time still though for someone to make the great hardcore doc.
