Loved the bad brains stuff, didn't care for the general exclusion of anything not socal, boston, or new york. how is there only a passing mention of husker du (MN) or dead kennedys (sf)? silly. a bit reductive, and the lip service paid to the rampant/de facto sexism and ridiculous nature of the now totemic macho violence was frustrating.
at times, it felt like ian mackaye was the only one with (or with the courage to put forth) a critique, which to me speaks to a greater love than those who do not/will not question it.
