Review of American Hardcore (2006) by Cory C — 09 Dec 2007
Amazing documentary. Shows what REAL hardcore was, not pussy emo kids who think Nirvana is the best band ever. To the kid 'Mike Hurley' who said in a review, "Being a punk myself and watching the movie made me appreciate the genre even more.
" Well that kid is a fucking poser. Him and several other fucking losers who think punk rock is still alive and kicking need to wake the fuck up. It wasnt a rebellion against your parents because they didnt buy you a fucking mercedes.
It wasnt a rebellion against politics like fucking NOFX and other bullshit bands say. Punk Rock was a rebellion against the norm. People need to wake up and realize what the difference is between being a punk and being a punk rocker.
A punk is a degrading word that Legs Mcneil used jokingly as a teenager. A punk rocker is someone who uses influences from those in the hippy and art rock era that did there best to not be a hippy but also be an individual, and take that music and completely revolutionize it.
Unfortunately that kind of thing wont ever happen quite like it did back then. Generation Y(my generation) and the Myspace generation(the spoiled nihilistic brats below Y) will never be able to create such a beautiful yet maniacal genre ever again.
Thats enough blabbering from me. If you have any more questions on rock n roll, just ask. The End.
