Review of American Grindhouse (2011) by Senor C — 02 Aug 2011
I fucking miss Drive-In Classics. They used to play so much American Grindhouse that you could take in a ton of these 'lost' exploitation movies on a regular basis by just tuning in @ any point of the day.
Ive had a love of Grindhouse for over ten years now & Im constantly looking for new titles. I was hoping this documentary would open the catalogue a little more for me & in part it did. Ive never seen any of the 'roughies' from the 60s.
My ventures are more into stuff from the 30s, 50s, 60s & 70s. I prefer the shit from the 70s but this flix breezes through them by the time we hit that decade. For fans of the genre it's a nice companion piece & pretty informative but I found it too short for the subject matter.
Maybe that's just because Im a fan. Love the all too brief interviews w/ Fred Williamson & especially David Hess who wants to cut off your cock while you're smelling the roses. lol the man's a fucking legend.
