American Graffiti is a satisfying slice of 60's nostalgia taking place on one wild night in the town. I enjoyed the characters, but I felt that it took some time to actually start caring about them and their goals.

It's also a slow film, but about 40-50 minutes in, I'd say it really picks up and things get wild and you feel more involved with the characters. To think George Lucas made this kind of film, and the only one of it's type (everything else was he made was sci-fi and Star Wars) is hard to believe, but he really pulls it off, giving equal focus to each characters and focusing on their build-ups and goals successfully, though not perfectly.

A shame he whimped out on making these kind of films, he's good at it! American Graffiti captures the 60's excellently, as well as the social stereotypes of the period and what a wild night in the town was like: exciting and thrilling!
