Review of American Graffiti (1973) by Paul J — 05 Apr 2009
Whenever anyone criticizes Lucas for not being able to write dialogue, I tell them to see this film. The dialogue is great! The nostalgic and episodic approach to storytelling is very endearing. Lucas clearly has great affection for his characters.
Personally speaking, I'm not particularly drawn to this time period, therefore it's not one of my favorites. Still, the final moments where the innocent characters are heading off to war, really captures the end of an era.
American youth will never be the same again.
