Review of American Graffiti (1973) by Joshua W — 14 Jul 2010
The best movie George Lucas has ever directed, and one of the greatest car movies ever made. It's a funny serious nostalgic movie with gorgeous cars and an amazing feel for an instantly vanished era.
Not only is this a successful tribute to an era of optimism and competitiveness, but is a masterpiece in its own right and original in every way. In a single viewing you could be reminded of a number of things from this film: a reminder of high school, crushes and heartbreaks, "cruising," but what will stick with you is how this is truly a testament to how the world around you always seems brighter when you are with your friends.
