Review of American Gigolo (1980) by Dustin G — 21 Aug 2011
The film feels realistic, has a great look and some fine performances, but it roots wholeheartedly for the affair between Gere's character and Hutton's. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, it is a Hollywood movie after all and we're talking about a guy who's a gigolo for a living, but still.
..overall just not as good as Schrader's Hardcore, or Taxi Driver for that matter.
