Review of American Gangster (2007) by Benjamin N — 04 Dec 2011

Denzel adds another classic performance thats up there with his greatest roles, crowe is stellar in a very low key role, he runs under the radar but man is he great, what a fucking intro scene, the scene with denzels mom near the end is also a standout, ridley scott is a master...this isnt as good as the godfather or goodfellas...but scott shows he can stand up with the best of them... I think this movie will grow in stature over the years and stand close to the classics..great supporting roles (the fucking RZA is crowes sidekick!!! and hes damn good?).

Very realistic display of heroin use, I love the setting, I loved this movie.
