Denzel Washington is always guaranteed to take whatever role he is given, and make it completely mind-blowing. He succeeded with this movie, however I do not think that the movie was particularly good.
The acting really made the film for me, the story was not really my cup of tea. Maybe I am also a little tired of movies about gangsters.
