This was really good! I wasn't expecting a lot from it because gangster movies and I don't mix. I mean, I didn't understand a thing what was being said in the first 20 minutes, so I actually had to go on Wikipedia and Google what was happening to get myself caught up.

Once you get the story though, the film is just ridiculous. Denzel Washington (and all his moobs) is absolutely fantastic, especially in the last quarter of the movie, but when Washington and Russell Crowe are in a scene together, the chemistry and talent on the screen just pops right out; the atmosphere is intense! Excellent film.

It does take a while to get used to the "gangster talk" style, so it would probably be a good idea to turn on subtitles for the first quarter of the movie just to understand character names and the whole lingo.
