A crime saga in line with some of the greatest gangster stories ever told. Denzel Washington plays Frank Lucas, a businessman, a family man, a drug lord and the irrefutable leader of drug empire in 1970s New York. Frank cuts out the middle men by sourcing 100% pure heroin straight from the source in Nam and sells it at a price that competitors cannot even dream of beating. He creates a product, he creates a brand name and stands by it, guarantees it and thus makes a lot of enemies in the process.
Denzel Washington delivers a knock out performance as usual. Russel Crowe as inspector Richie Roberts is amazing. All the supporting cast needs mention as well. Downright 100% entertainment.
