Review of American Burger (2014) by Lovro H — 22 Aug 2015
Probably one of the funniest horror/comedy movies in a very long time! The story is about a class field trip in Europe. But, everything goes wrong when they come to the home of the American Burger. This movie is very self-aware of how stupid it is.
The characters are very cliched, and they know it. They even name the characters by how they act in the movie (nice cheerleader, nerd with a camera, preppy cheerleader, etc. etc.). The movie's plot isn't the best, but there are some truly hilarious scenes throughout.
Especially in the end when a great, funny plot twist happens! The acting is solid. Some of the teens are very bad, but most of them are quite good, actually. And the manager of American Burger is really well acted.
There is quite a lot of gore and violence in the movie, but all of it is done in a comedic way and it looks great! Yes, it can get over-the-top, but it looks awesome. All in all, probably one of the, if not THE best, horror/comedy I've ever seen and I would seriously recommend to watch this.
