Review of American Beauty (1999) by Mark K — 26 Sep 2012
An engrossing work that explores the traps of American idealisms of success, beauty and acceptance through a brilliantly cast ensemble of characters. The well-crafted script, stirring acting and revealing direction combine into a celebration of beautiful and ugly.
It's like holding an exaggerated mirror up to American society (albeit, limited to suburban and white).
