Review of American Beauty (1999) by Clayton R — 12 Oct 2012
Though strictly 90's and solely drama, American Beauty defines its dark, honest self. The characters are nearly photo-realistic as they develop and are boosted by stylish filming and a chilling soundtrack.
Also, the script blasts dozens of deep, revolving themes of love, hate and standards as well as good structure and eerie dialogue. Well directed and cold, this makes me laugh, freeze and '...look closer'.
