Review of American Beauty (1999) by Rory R — 27 Dec 2012
A film about a family who have grown so accustomed to their daily routines that when the day comes where they all think "where is my life going" they have an intense reaction. It's a great film with some great story telling and acting.
Kevin Spacey is brilliant playing a man who is going through a very big mid-life crises, which could either give him a reason to live or ruin it for himself and the people around him. He totally steals the show playing such a likeable character.
The film captures each angle of the families struggle in an effective manner, that by the time of the explosive ending, you really don't know what to expect.
