Review of American Assassin (2017) by Joe H — 22 Nov 2017
I do not quite get the critics low scoring of this film. Having read a few of the Mitch Rapp books (did not get to this one, yet), I felt this was an appropriate adaptation to getting a new franchise off the ground.
Similar to the likes of super-agent, Jason Bourne, Mitch Rapp is simply someone you do not need with. This should have had a score closer to the 70% range. The users review show this and it is a better rating to go off of.
There are holes or gaps in the story and the storyline, at times, felt a little choppy or rushed. Despite this, though, the movie was wildly entertaining and showed a more gruesome side of the ear on terror.
With a title like "American Assassin", it is easy to be dissuaded by what to expect. Ultimately, it is to show you how Rapp becomes the CIAs most lethal (fictional) asset.
