A fascinating and entertaining crime drama. Director/writer Layton does an expert job of creatively telling this true story in a hybrid of narrative storytelling mixed with documentary elements. The outcome has its flaws but makes for a compelling watch.
He also assembles a talented cast that is up for the challenge. Though the script may lack some depth, thanks to Layton's sharp visual direction and these actors, the movie is funny, poignant and exciting.
