Review of America: Imagine the World Without Her (2014) by Lora K — 24 Jan 2015
If you think that America is evil because our country's history has not been perfect, then you will hate this movie. If you think that America is the best thing that ever happened to mankind, creating the freest, most prosperous, best-intentioned country that has ever existed in the history of the world, then you will love it.
I know very well how imperfect America has been. My ancestors were oppressed and murdered with no one in the government willing to lift a hand to protect them. The civil war changed America into a country that protects the civil rights of everyone.
Historically we have sent our military to protect the freedom of others and not to take over territory for ourselves. If you want to pass on American values to the next generation, you need this movie.
If you want a reason to like your country, or even love your country, you need this movie. If your college-educated child is telling you how rotten our country is, you need this movie. It takes an immigrant to help us to see the blessings of America that we take for granted.
