Review of Amelia (2009) by Douglas D — 26 Jun 2010
This is the type of film that should get a lot of Oscar hype, but it did not. It did not because it just wasn't very good. It's a tad boring, its storytelling is off, and the supporting characters (and even the lead) aren't really explored as they should and could be; sadly, a great deal of acting talent is also wasted.
I did stay somewhat engaged because of decent enough performances and for not knowing much about Ms. Earhart.
If you care about aviation or the history of Ms. Earhart, then 'Amelia' is a serviceable enough look at her adventures. Though, it's only worth one look and can be passed on by all others.
