Review of Amelia (2009) by Shawn H — 29 Jan 2010
This film is far from the dissapointing reviews it opened to in theaters but it is also far from a classic. Most of the time Mira Nair seems to play it safe. It's a biopic by the numbers. We are told Earheart is a woman who truly lives for adventure yet her scenes all seem to be played safe.
I was missing the danger and adventure aspect. And the dialogue is pretty questionable at times. But that said, I found "Amelia" an interesting watch. It's too bad the finale of the film wasn't more gripping or intense.
Yes we know the end going in, but what was the biggest event in Amelias life was sadly was the weakest point of the movie when it could have been the real highlight of the movie. It's work a watch but don't expect too much.
