Review of Amelia (2009) by Natalie A — 14 Mar 2010
Wonderful acting detailing the heroic and brave life of Amelia Earhart. Unfortunetly, you get lost along the way as it does not clearly define the places you're taken to. The editing of this movie brought it down.
It starts out at the launch of her last flight and then goes back when she first meets Mr. Putnam (Richard Gere), her future husband, and starts off on her record-breaking and daring career. It does show some of the different causes Amelia fought for in her life for women, but very briefly.
This movie is mostly about the love story between Earhart and Putman. I wanted to see more of her pioneering work for women than her love-trangle issues. The final leg of her journey before she disappears is extremely long and gets a little boring.
Overall, it was okay and attempts to remind us what a remarkable and strong woman Amelia Earhart was.
