Review of Amelia (2009) by Aaron D — 15 Feb 2010
I don't know how they did it, but they made Amelia Earhart seem boring. Somehow, I doubt that she was a boring woman. That wasn't the only problem with the film: it was missing key scenes. For example - (slight spoilers) in one scene, her husband discovers she loves another man and then the next scene, all three are fine and dandy, acting like nothing ever happened (and the matter is never addressed again).
In a movie standpoint, that makes the characters unreliable and utterly unbelievable. Still, the writing was wooden. The whole film went from big moments to a loooot of boring filler and back again. By the end, I just didn't care anymore.
Oh, but it did have some great aerial shots, though. That's it's one redeeming quality.
