Review of Amelia (2009) by John H — 16 Mar 2010
Serviceable account of the wildly ambitious US aviatrix Amelia Earhart. In the pre-war world of aeronautics, the feat attempted here is extraordinary. To its credit, the film does hint at a few seminal points.
Not the least of which are quests of this kind often require massive war-chests, and the finest expertise available. One wonders if she'd have fared as well as Howard Hughs under more optimal conditions/times.
I came away admiring her for her passion, and drive. Less so for other traits.
