Review of Amarcord (1973) by Bruno L — 09 Apr 2010
Molto bene! This film is reminiscent of Renoir's "Rules of the Game," or even Tati's "Play Time." If you enjoy rich and textured mise-en-scene like that of Wes Anderson film, or the spontaneously outlandish characters prevalent in Christopher Guest movies, you will adore Amarcord.
Every shot lavish, every moment humorous and poignant, this film is another example of the cinematic gold that Italian neo-realists, especially Fellini, were able to create.
