Review of Amadeus (1984) by Chatvarin L — 01 May 2011
I'll just say one thing; Mozart's character came across as very American to me - and that is beside the pervasive American accents. Sure he has been fictionalized as a pathetic outcast but seriously no 18th-century Europeans in their right mind with such aspiration in the high cultural spehere would have been such a churl and certainly not a bohemian one.
And only already far-gone lunatics would have spoken to a Habsburg emperor in late 18th-century Vienna like that!
