This is one of my favorite movies. F. Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce are great as the two leads. The sets and costumes are fantastic. The staging of Mozart's operas is extremely well done. What is probably most impressive about this film is the way in which Mozart's music is incorporated.
Certain pieces are selected which greatly enhance the atmosphere of a particular scenes. One of my favorite scenes in the whole is when Salieri is helping Mozart write his Requiem. As Mozart dictates his ideas to Salieri, the individual voices and instruments are heard, almost as if the composers can hear the completed work in their heads.
It is a brilliantly creative scene. This movie is a real spectacle from beginning to end.
