Review of Amadeus (1984) by Sean W — 08 Mar 2012
Milos Foman's masterwork is 'Amadeus'. The biopic is not made for education but entertainment. The film's 3 hours wisk by in a matter of seconds, and the performances are maddening and part comedic.
The highlight of the film, without a doubt, is when Mozart is hearing music all around. There's a scene when his mother-in-law is screaming at him, and all he hears are operatic voices. In the next scene, Mozart is conducting an opera with the SAME tune he composed while listening to the woman.
Without a doubt, Amadeus is a stroke of darkness, brilliance, comedy, and perfection.
