Review of Amadeus (1984) by Brad S — 27 Dec 2012
An interesting, yet drawn out, look at one of the greatest classical composers of all time. F. Murray Abraham is definitely the star in this piece. Tom Hulce's performance seemed just adequate to me.
I longed for a better actor to play Amadeus and for the writing to be more engaging. But the production design, cinematography and music are all top notch. I can see why this won Best Picture in 1984, but it doesn't hold up as well almost 30 years later.
