Quite obviously and rightfully Best Picture of 1984. This powerful film exemplifies how great a good score, and good performances can make a film so good. F Murray Abraham is simply astounding in this film.

His lines are all delivered perfectly and soundly, while keeping his face filled with emotion, greed, jealously, and yet at the same time, shame. Tom Hulce also has arguably the greatest performance of his career as the young and humorous Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Though this film portrays Mozart as a bit of a goofball, he was not exactly that way. The death of his mother, constant relocation, and early sickness made him solemn, but not exactly quiet as one might expect.

Yet still, his character is wonderfully acted. His lines are delivered correctly, and was definitely one of the best acting jobs I have seen to date. The score of the movie is superb, and probably the best I've ever heard of any movie.

Each piece just enhances the already obvious mood in the scene (i.e the very beginning scene). The singing was stupendous and should be further praised, as it was very underrated (especially the operas).

So bravo, Amadeus. Bravo, Milos Forman. This film was an underrated success and should be a must watch for not just any movie fan, but every movie fan. 5/5.
