Review of Amadeus (1984) by Kyle B — 10 May 2014
I had lowish expectations going into this movie since period pieces never entertain me but this one in unlike the others. Both F Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce were nominated for Best Picture with F winning but really it was Hulce's performance that wowed me.
From that infectious laugh and high spirits he really is the star performer in this. Jeffery Jones, Christine Ebersole, and Elizabeth Berridge are great supporting characters as are the rest of the cast.
The music is phenomenal in this movie and the costumes and hair are of course great because I have yet to see a poorly dressed period piece no matter how boring they may be. Milos Forman's direction is magnificent as well.
