Review of Amadeus (1984) by Areeque T — 04 Jan 2016
With its litany of Academy Awards to show for, not much needs to be said. So I'll be critical for the sake of it! It is to be enjoyed the most if watched as a comedy!! Language accurate to the period has been substituted for contemporary verbiage, which is an interesting choice.
Many period pieces/biopics tend to eschew period language, but the dialogue of Amadeus is downright pedestrian, which takes a little getting used to.
