5 out of 5!

Amadeus is one of those rare movies in which I like to call a timeless classic. I found it to most enjoyable and I believe almost anyone would enjoy it. I mean its practically a perfect movie in which there's nothing wrong with it. The acting is perfect, the story is perfect, the directing is perfect and the writing is perfect.

Even though Milos Forman is only known for this one and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but I still have to say that he has the potential and talent to make this film come to life. He knew the right actors to play as the historical icons from the 1700's, he choose the perfect writers to create the dialog between each of the characters and he portrays the true story of Mozart in a way no one else could. Infact I don't believe anyone else could have directed this movie in the way that it is.

Probably the best thing from my point of view to come from this movie is the story. Not only is it a great story, but as we all know its true and thats what makes it interesting. Most of the story is told from Antonio Salieri played by F. Murray Abraham while he is put in a lunatic asylum after attempting to commit suicide and is visited by young priest whom wants to hear of his confessions. And from there on he tells the story from him growing up to become a famous musician to him discovering the truth about his beloved icon, Mozart.

Even though the cast members are not really remembered for much of anything else, I have to say that everyone did such a wonderful job as each of their historical characters that they portrayed. Even though I found the performances of F. Murray Abraham (Antonio Salieri) and Tom Hulce (Mozart) to be quite even in the movie, I'm very glad that F. Murray Abraham got the oscar for Best Actor for it. And also the other performances were great as well, but I give most of the credit to the main roles.

Overall Amadeus is a timeless classic from the 80's and it definitely the eight oscars it got especially Best Picture.
