Review of Always (1989) by Vicki S — 12 Nov 2007
You know, it's absurd; I criticise Speilberg for being too sentimental much of the time and yet my favourite of his films is his MOST sentimental.
You gotta love Holly Hunter and - though shortarse Dreyfuss isn't an obvious romantic lead he's pretty sexy and loveable in this. Not as sexy and loveable as Goodman however - he rocks my world.
The whole cast is excellent and the casting of Audrey Hepburn as an angel (or is she God?) is inspired. She was already sick when making this, her last movie, so what she has to say about death and the afterlife is especially moving. Watch it.
