Review of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip (2015) by Orlando O — 17 Apr 2016
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip is one franchise that is gone downhill compared to how cute they started with a first couple of movies. Now, the fourth film in the series has went from being something fun and cute to being annoying with the potty like humor.
Sure, these films are definitely going to be amusement for the kids to see their beloved chipmunks Alvin, Simon, and Theodore hit the big screen again. The film can be enjoyable if you are a fan of the chipmunks.
The new film has nothing to add to the series. A plot involving the chipmunks trying to get along with Dave (Jason Lee) new girlfriend son, who is a irresponsible teenager. Dave and his girlfriend go on a Florida trip.
The chipmunks think itâ(TM)s a romantic getaway for him to propose to her, and there fear that Dave would no longer want them in the household when he is trying to start a family. Some new additions like the bad guy played by Tony Hale, who is on the hunt for the chipmunks.
Except, he plays the most irritating slapstick villain. Which makes you really miss the previous films villain played by David Cross. The fourth Alvin and the Chipmunk film may not have enough energy like its predecessors, it still carries the charm and cute factor that kids will enjoy.
