Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are off on a road-ent trip across America, with plenty of tunes and some brilliant animation by Weta Workshops.

When the boys think Dave is getting married, they go into action, leaving a trio of wild squirrels to take their place at home. Meanwhile, they wreak havoc from LA to Miami Florida.

The characters remain consistent with the previous movies, and we get a lot more close up slap-stick humor. The singing and dancing really is charming, and there are moments that will make you cry, I promise. The air-marshal character provides a convenient, somewhat annoying adversary, but overall, the pace is lively and there are plenty of laughs. The Bagdasarians always know how to bring just the right mix of heart and shenanigans, and Road Chip doesn't disappoint. They boys are growing up, and it proves a little bitter-sweat, but still a really fun ride.
