Review of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked (2011) by Pizza P — 31 Jan 2012
"Too much slapstick violence", "Lazy, remote and, grating" and "Entertainment for the very, very, very young", are just some of the panned reviews critics had recalled on this third Chipmunk movie.
It will take some effort to ignore the harsh reviews from critics. Adults just don't have the spirit for a great family movie anymore. I thought this was a wonderful, cute, and heartfelt family film for everyone who really needs a break from Twilight and Harry Potter.
Another thing that I liked in this film, was that it showed a softer side Alvin, a wilder side of Simon, and a more daring side of Theodore. The plot was solid, and the humour was consistent and not over-done. The thing that critics don't realize, is that this is a children's comedy, and it is bound to have lots of "slapstick humour" that I find is quite funny. Overall, this is a safe, cute, and great film for the whole family.
