Review of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked (2011) by Jessica S — 22 Apr 2012
This was no better or worse than the other two movies. I really like the music actually. When I was really little though, I always listened to my Alvin and the Chipmunks cassette tapes. I like what Jason Lee brings to the bunch, but it sucks to see him be this responsible stuck up character.
He is more entertaining than that, especially if he has the opportunity to rant a bit. I had no idea that Justin Long was Alvin until just now. Really? Why would they need to pick anyone famous to be the chipmunks? The voice is so altered that it should not matter.
Long is one of my favorite comedic actors though. Anna Faris apparently fell victim to another cartoon character movie. Any way, show this movie to your kids, enjoy the music, but never get your hopes up for these types of movies (Yogi Bear, Smurfs, Chipmunks, etc) because they will never be as good as the originals.
