Alvin and the Chipmunks started as an animated show for kids. I, like many others, grew up with it. Several years ago this film came out. The entire concept for it is stupid. It makes no sense to make live action Smurf movies or Chipmunk movies.
This film is not funny. The comedy and "jokes'' are terrible. The only positive, is that the CG chipmunks aren't terrible looking. They have a few "cuteish'' scenes together, but the script, bad acting, and really bad songs destroy what could have been decent, but it still shouldn't been made in the first place.
However, small kids will love it.
