Review of Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007) by Blæke W — 08 Feb 2011
Better than than the average talking animals anime out there, innovative composition or not these guys sucked at making any sound out all every peep got stirringly worse but it grew on ya and if your a hobbie musician like me (I went for the pause quarter time, and laid down to new songs I'd be tinkering with) you'll find it more than a little inspiring but encouraging aswell.
There's a lot about 'the jingle writer' needing less mumbo jumbo in the industry (such as talking animals) and expressing a fair amount of extra effort to be in a position like his within the industry of music; sales, promotion, background research. Though the real message is even these kinda guys that have a great job, get the darndest of lookers a girfriends and are the least bit funny also 'get grown up' too.
It drags on though, displaying some pitfalls with inscruplious activity from agents or manages taking over as 'latest hit groups representation/promoter' but its all just fun for the kids anyhoo, watching these little guys squeek around the place cool as kuecumbeR kids .
Everybdies gotta Love this 'my name is Earl' guy jason lee and in this working around such well directed stock standard punch in the face slap stick set of sceens with these little guys, again won't miss you if your looking for a laugh. The beauty of the female lead, only a slight part, is quenching though the rest of the flick apart form 'these little guys' is supported by a "spell it simply enough" for you character played by David Cross. A face familiar and trustworthy also, enough look to carry the above mentioned typecast through.
The music was overall (a music flick) diverse enough to sit through the entirity without much funky grimmacing from me, though not my taste and so would hate to have on as a re-run if I had children or a even spouse for that matter lol who could play it on repeat for it just to be a higher pitched annoyance than hem but alas single and a big kid enjoying the pictures. If your similar you may enjoy instead of await a demand from a five to ten year old hehe.
