Review of Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007) by Janet A — 01 May 2012
When I told my best friend that I had never seen any of the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies whilst we were hanging out for a few days, he was downright shocked. I really didn't think much of them when they came out in theaters and thought that this new version wouldn't really bring much change from the cartoon series that I grew up with.
Well, unfortunately, that's kind of what happened. It was good, but nothing jumps out at me as memorable. Dave's story is intriguing, yes, and we eventually find out that Ian Hawk is nothing but an egotistical maniac who shows no love for his clients, but other than that the chipmunks themselves are pretty much what I expected.
I wasn't really caught off guard by anything. Don't get me wrong - it's a nice watch if you've never seen them before - but it's not a movie that I'd want to watch more than once.
